Demand increases for Paradise Coast Sports Complex

Collier County’s Paradise Coast Sports Complex, which opened in July 2020, has been forced to use other county park fields for events during peak season as it struggles to accommodate increasing demand.

As a result, the Board of County Commissioners on Aug. 13 voted 3-1, with Commission Chairman Chris Hall opposed, to provide an analysis on how the county can move forward with Phase 3, a ninth field and a building.

Sports Facilities Companies to Manage Burlington Pickleball Complex

The Sports Facilities Companies has announced a partnership with the city of Burlington, North Carolina, to operate the new Burlington Pickleball Complex and Pickleball courts at Fairchild Park.

SFC will manage all aspects of daily operations, including marketing and booking events, staffing and training, patron services and maintenance. Construction is underway on the complex which will feature 16 pickleball courts and one championship court.

City of Ontario announces “Ontario Sports Empire” as name for new multi-use sports complex

The City of Ontario’s upcoming multi-use sports complex has officially received a name: “The Ontario Sports Empire.” Set to open in fall 2026, the complex is positioned to act as a venue for major regional and national tournaments.

Boasting 190 acres of top-tier athletic facilities, including 20 long fields, 14 youth diamond fields, eight full-size diamonds, four football/rugby fields, and two championship baseball fields, the Ontario Sports Empire will be the one of the largest sports complex of its kind west of the Rocky Mountains.

ENR Texas-Louisiana Judges Recognize Diverse Group of ‘Best Projects’ Award Winners

ENR Texas & Louisiana has chosen 39 projects in five states for its 2024 regional Best Project awards, the latest in the annual recognitions of design and construction achievement across the country.

Baseball is here to stay in Tampa Bay – this time, at the youth level.

That was the announcement at a groundbreaking event shrouded in secrecy Wednesday morning. Media were invited to a “new sports and recreation venue in the Tampa Bay area” at 4000 66th Avenue N. in Pinellas Park, just off US-19, to be opened by Pinellas Park Mayor Sandra Bradbury, Senator Nick DiCeglie (R–Indian Rocks Beach), former State House Speaker Chris Sprowls, and others.

Play ball! Paducah, McCracken County leaders break ground on sports park

After five years and multiple setbacks, including the COVID-19 pandemic, Paducah and McCracken County leaders on Monday broke ground on the long-awaited Paducah Sports Park at the former Bluegrass Downs site.

The project’s estimated cost is $65 million, with funding largely coming from the transient room tax. Once complete, the park is projected to generate $155 million in direct impact in its first five years.

Youth sports mecca, with hockey and zip lines, to open in Overland Park this fall

Late last month in southern Overland Park, construction workers spent the morning preparing to install 1,500 arena seats looking down on what will become an NHL-sized hockey rink.

Nearby, crews were laying down maple hardwood planks to build out eight basketball courts, which will also serve as 16 volleyball courts. Or they can be transformed with temporary turf for soccer, lacrosse or baseball.
